With roughly 37 beaches strung along its sheltered leeward coast, Curaçao offers something most Caribbean islands cannot: beach after beach, each one different, each one tucked into its own natural cove between dramatic limestone cliffs. Unlike the long, open stretches of Aruba, Curaçao's beaches are intimate bays — some with full facilities, some with nothing but sand, rock, and turquoise water. The best way to see them all? By boat.
Our tours take you past some of the coast's greatest hits. Playa Lagun is a narrow cove carved between towering cliffs where sea turtles regularly glide past snorkellers in water so calm it feels like a swimming pool. Grote Knip — often called the most beautiful beach on the island — opens up beneath a dramatic cliffside overlook, its white sand curving around a bay of impossible blue. Nearby Kleine Knip offers the same stunning water in a more intimate, laid-back setting. Further north, Playa Kalki marks the island's northwestern tip, where a reef nicknamed 'Alice in Wonderland' drops away into deep blue and frogfish, barracudas, and stingrays patrol the wall. And then there is Cas Abao — voted one of the '21 best beaches in the world' by National Geographic — with its long, bright shore and lagoon-like conditions perfect for families. Between the famous names lie beaches with no road access and no name — quiet stretches of coast we reach only by sea.
Arriving by boat changes everything. No parking lots, no steep staircase descents, no fighting for a spot on the sand. The Rupert 50 anchors just offshore, you wade in through crystal-clear water, and you have a hidden cove practically to yourself. Curaçao's reefs are home to more than 350 fish species and 65 types of coral — so every beach stop doubles as a world-class snorkel site. It is the way these coastlines were always meant to be explored.
Beach Tip
Pack reef-safe sunscreen and water shoes for rocky entries. The west coast beaches are less developed and have fewer facilities — that is exactly what makes them so special. Each bay has its own character, so bring a sense of adventure and let the coast surprise you.
