Frequently asked questions

How long is the Half Day Safari and is it cruise-friendly?+
3.5 hours total. Designed specifically for cruise passengers — the schedule fits any standard 6–8 hour port stop with at least 2 hours of buffer. Departure from Caracasbaai, 25 minutes from Mega Pier by taxi. Morning departure 08:30 (back 12:00) or afternoon departure 13:00 (back 16:30). Guaranteed return-to-ship timing.
What's the difference between the morning and afternoon Half Day Safari departures?+
Same route, different food and light. Morning (08:30–12:00): light Caribbean breakfast on board (fresh tropical fruit, croissants, yogurt) and the calmest water of the day, so the snorkel visibility is highest. Afternoon (13:00–16:30): light lunch (gourmet sandwiches, fruit, chips), softer light for photography, and you finish in time for an early dinner. Both options end with the signature Seafari cocktail.
Will I see the Tugboat, Blue Room AND turtles on the Half Day Safari?+
Yes — all three signature sites in one tour. Tugboat shipwreck (5 m, sunk 1946) at Caracasbaai for the easy reef snorkel; the Blue Room sea cave at Westpunt when ocean conditions allow safe entry; sea turtles at Playa Piskadó where they feed on seagrass in shallow water year-round. Plus a stop at Kleine Knip for white sand and a swim. Most operators only fit one or two of these in the same time.
Is the Half Day Safari long enough to actually enjoy each site, or does it feel rushed?+
Each snorkel stop runs 25–40 minutes — long enough to descend, do a slow loop, and resurface unhurried. The Rupert 50's speed (planing at 30–35 knots) keeps transit time short, so the in-water time is what fills the schedule, not the ride. If you want longer, slower, more beach-hopping time, the Full Coast Sea Safari extends the same route into a full day.
Can I book the Half Day Safari with a same-day cruise stop guarantee?+
Yes — at booking, enter your ship name and arrival date. We match the schedule, build in a return buffer (you're back at Mega Pier with at least 90 minutes before all-aboard), and call you the morning of if anything in the cruise itinerary shifts. If your ship cancels Curaçao entirely, you get a 100% refund, not 50%.
Half Day Safari vs Full Coast Sea Safari — which should I pick?+
Time + budget decide. Cruise stop or single afternoon free: Half Day (USD 99, 3.5 hours, all three signature sites). Full vacation day available: Full Coast Sea Safari (USD 139, 7 hours, same three sites plus four west-coast beaches you can only reach by boat). Travelling with kids 4–8: Half Day is the lighter option. Photography-focused or honeymooners: Full Coast for the wider variety of locations.
What food is served on the morning vs afternoon Half Day Safari?+
Morning (08:30): light breakfast — fresh tropical fruit, croissants, yogurt. Afternoon (13:00): light lunch — gourmet sandwiches, fresh tropical fruit, chips. Both include unlimited bottled water, soft drinks, local Curaçao beer (Montana Blond, Amstel Bright), wine, hard seltzers, and the signature Seafari cocktail. Dietary restrictions accommodated with 24 hours notice at booking.
Is the Half Day Safari suitable for kids 6+ or seniors?+
Both, yes. The boat has stable seating, sun shade, and grab handles; the leeward water is calm. Kids from age 6 are welcome on the standard tour (4–12 pay child price); junior gear on board. Seniors with mobility limits should mention any concerns at booking — the crew assists with boarding from the dock and can adjust snorkel-stop timing. Pregnant guests in third trimester should consult a doctor before booking.
What if my cruise ship arrives late or changes its schedule — can I rebook?+
Yes. If your cruise line shifts the Curaçao port time, message us via WhatsApp or email — we move you to the matching departure (morning ↔ afternoon) at no charge, subject to availability. If your ship skips Curaçao entirely, you get a 100% refund regardless of the standard 24-hour policy. We track major cruise schedules in real time and reach out proactively when shifts hit our roster.
Where do I meet the boat for the Half Day Safari?+
Caracasbaai marina, 25 minutes by taxi from Mega Pier (USD 25 fixed) or 20 minutes from central Willemstad. Free parking on site. Hotel pickup is available as a USD 15 add-on at booking for resorts in the Mambo, Jan Thiel, and Pietermaai zones. Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and the safety briefing.
